How Much Does a Kitchen Remodel Cost in Las Vegas?
Real ranges, what moves them, and where people overspend.
The honest answer is that a kitchen remodel in Las Vegas can run from around fifteen thousand dollars to well past a hundred thousand, and the spread is not mostly about taste. It is about how much of the room you move.
A kitchen where the sink, range, and refrigerator stay where they are is a finish project: cabinets, counters, tile, paint. A kitchen where they move is a construction project, because every one of those has a pipe, a vent, or a circuit attached to it, and in a Las Vegas house those runs are usually in a concrete slab.
Typical Las Vegas kitchen ranges
Three broad tiers. Most projects land in the middle one.
| Scope | Typical range | What that buys |
|---|---|---|
| Cosmetic refresh | $15k – $30k | Cabinet refacing or paint, new counters, backsplash, fixtures, hardware. Layout untouched. |
| Full remodel, same layout | $30k – $70k | New cabinets, quartz counters, tile, lighting, appliances. Plumbing and gas stay put. |
| Full remodel, new layout | $70k – $130k+ | Walls moved or removed, island added, plumbing and electrical relocated, permits and inspections. |
Ranges reflect what projects of this scope generally run in the Las Vegas valley. They are not a quote — every house is different, and ours are free.
Six decisions that account for most of the spread
Moving the sink or range
This is the single biggest jump. Relocating a drain means cutting and patching the slab. Budget for it deliberately, or design around keeping them where they are.
Cabinet tier
Stock, semi-custom, and custom are three different budgets for the same footprint. The jump from stock to semi-custom usually buys real quality. The jump to full custom mostly buys exact sizing.
Counter material
Quartz has become the default here because it handles heat and needs no sealing. Exotic natural stone can multiply the counter line item on its own.
Taking out a wall
Whether it is load-bearing decides everything. A non-structural wall is a day. A structural one means a beam, an engineer, and a permit.
Electrical brought to code
Once you pull a permit, older Las Vegas kitchens usually need added circuits and GFCI protection. It is not optional and it should be in the estimate from day one.
Appliance choices
Appliances are the easiest place to add ten thousand dollars without touching the construction budget. Decide early, because cabinet openings are built around them.
Where people overspend
Full custom cabinets in a standard-size kitchen. If your runs are conventional lengths, semi-custom will fit and cost meaningfully less. Custom earns its money in awkward rooms, not rectangular ones.
Moving plumbing for a small gain. Shifting a sink three feet for a slightly better work triangle can cost thousands once the slab is involved. Sometimes it is worth it. Often it is not, and nobody tells you the price before you have fallen in love with the drawing.
Buying finishes before measuring. Countertops are templated to cabinets as installed, never to a plan. Tile quantities depend on layout and waste factor. Buying early usually means buying twice.
Kitchen remodel costs in Las Vegas
How much should I budget per square foot?
Per-square-foot numbers mislead on kitchens, because cost tracks cabinet linear footage and appliance count far more than floor area. A small galley with high-end cabinets can cost more than a large kitchen with stock ones.
Is it cheaper to reface cabinets than replace them?
Usually, and noticeably so — if the existing boxes are sound and the layout works. If the boxes are particleboard and sagging, refacing is money spent on a bad foundation.
Does a kitchen remodel add value in Las Vegas?
A mid-range kitchen remodel is consistently among the better-returning improvements, though it rarely returns the full cost at resale. It returns more if you actually live there and use it.
Do I need a permit?
If you move plumbing, gas, or electrical, yes. Swapping cabinets and counters in place typically does not. See our Clark County permit guide.
How long will I be without a kitchen?
Six to ten weeks of construction for a full remodel, plus cabinet lead time before it starts. More detail in how long a remodel takes.
Why do quotes vary so much?
Usually because they are not quoting the same scope. One includes electrical to code and permit fees; another assumes you will handle it. Compare line items, not totals.
