Las Vegas Remodeling FAQ
The things Las Vegas homeowners ask us most, answered without the runaround.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Construction by Mirage holds Nevada State License #59782. You’re working with a licensed, accountable contractor on every project.
Do you charge for estimates?
No. Estimates are free. We visit, look at the project, and give you a clear price and timeline in writing before any work starts.
What areas do you serve?
Las Vegas and the surrounding valley, including Summerlin, Henderson, and North Las Vegas.
How do you handle pricing and changes?
We present the budget and schedule up front and talk through any risks. If something needs to change mid-project, we discuss it with you before doing the work. No surprise charges on the final invoice.
Do you work on condos and high-rises?
Yes. We handle HOA approvals, building access, and elevator scheduling regularly, so condo renovations don’t stall on logistics. See condo remodeling for how that process runs.
Do you build additions, not just remodels?
Yes. Room additions, second stories, garage conversions, and detached casitas, including the structural engineering and Clark County permitting. See home addition construction.
Do I need to be home during the work?
Not the whole time. We keep a clean, respectful job site and give you steady updates, so you can carry on with your day.
How long will my project take?
It depends on scope. A repaint is days, a kitchen remodel is weeks. You get a realistic finish date with your estimate, and we hold ourselves to it. Real durations by project type are in our remodeling timelines guide.
Do you handle the permits?
Yes, and we pull them in our name rather than asking you to file as an owner-builder. We prepare the application, answer plan-check comments and book the inspections. Which projects need one is covered in the Clark County permit guide.
What happens if you find something behind the wall?
On older Las Vegas homes we usually do find something. We stop, show you, price it, and get your written approval before continuing. It goes through as a change order, never as a surprise on the final invoice.
How do payments work?
Payments are tied to milestones written into the contract before work starts, not to a calendar that keeps moving. There is no large cash deposit up front for materials nobody has ordered, and you should never be substantially ahead of the work.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. We warrant our workmanship, and manufacturer warranties on materials pass through to you. Ask what applies to your specific scope and we will put it in writing with the estimate rather than describing it verbally.
Can I stay in the house during the work?
For most projects, yes. We seal the work zone and keep the rest of the house livable. For a full kitchen remodel or a job that takes out your only bathroom, many people move out for part of it, and we will be straight with you about which one yours is.
Do you help with design and choosing materials?
Yes. Most clients pick finishes with us so that selections are locked early enough not to hold up the schedule. If you are working with your own designer, we are happy to build from their drawings.
What does a remodel actually cost in Las Vegas?
It depends far more on how much you move than on what you pick. We publish real ranges rather than making you ask: see the kitchen, bathroom and home addition cost guides.
Do you deal with my HOA?
Yes. We assemble the architectural review packet, provide the insurance certificate naming your association, and track the submittal until it clears. See HOA approval for a Las Vegas remodel.
Still have a question?
Call us and ask. We’d rather talk it through than have you guess.
