The idea the company was founded on in 2005, and the reason the Herrmann family also built one of Las Vegas’ most established nonprofits.
People and property matter, in that order
Craig Herrmann founded Construction by Mirage in 2005. From that day, People and Property Matter has been the main focus.
We understand this is your home or your business, and it matters. That belief decides how we quote, how we schedule, how we treat a property while we’re working in it, and how we stand behind the finished job.
So it is no surprise that the Herrmann family also founded one of the most successful nonprofit organizations in Las Vegas.
New Vista
New Vista is a nonprofit organization that supports and empowers youth and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
It provides Supported Living Homes and an array of programs to promote independence, confidence, and self-advocacy, giving its members the opportunity to experience life to the fullest.
At the core of every New Vista program is the belief that people of all abilities are of equal worth, deserving of dignity and respect. Its programs offer activities and experiences that promote independence, friendship, and greater inclusion.
Southern Nevadans with IDD
New Vista supports individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Down Syndrome
- Prader-Willi Syndrome
- Williams Syndrome
- Individuals with an I.Q. score of 70 or below

There are several ways to get involved and make a difference. Donations go through New Vista’s Donate Now page. For corporate sponsorship, special funding, or to register as a volunteer, email the team directly.
Values are only worth stating if they cost you something
We quote the work, not the hope
If the electrical needs bringing to code once we touch it, that is in the estimate on day one. It makes our number higher than the bid that left it out, and we lose some jobs that way.
Bad news travels fast
A backordered cabinet or an unexpected condition gets a phone call the day we know, with a revised date. Nobody enjoys that call. Discovering it in week eight is far worse.
We say no to work
If a handyman can do it more cheaply, or the project needs a specialist we are not, we tell you. A referral costs us a job and keeps a relationship.
Your house is not a job site
Floors covered, furniture wrapped, hardware removed rather than taped around, and the place swept at the end of every day rather than the end of the job.
Change orders in writing
Nothing gets built off a hallway conversation. If it changes the price or the schedule, it is written down and you approve it before anyone starts.
We finish
The punch walk happens with you, and the list is yours rather than ours. We stay until it is done, which is a different thing from being nearly done.
