How Much Does a Bathroom Remodel Cost in Las Vegas?
Powder room to primary suite, and what separates them.
Bathrooms are small rooms with an unusual amount of plumbing, waterproofing, and tile packed into them. That is why a bathroom can cost nearly as much per square foot as a kitchen, and why the cheapest bid is so often the one that skips the part that matters.
The single biggest variable is the shower. A tub-shower swap with a prefabricated surround is a different project from a custom tiled walk-in with a built pan, and the gap between them is usually larger than everything else in the room combined.
Typical Las Vegas bathroom ranges
By scope, not by square footage.
| Scope | Typical range | What that buys |
|---|---|---|
| Powder room | $5k – $12k | Vanity, toilet, fixtures, paint, floor tile. No shower or tub involved. |
| Hall bath refresh | $12k – $25k | New vanity, toilet, tub or prefab surround, tile floor, lighting. Layout unchanged. |
| Full hall bath remodel | $25k – $45k | Custom tiled shower, new waterproofing, tile floor and walls, vanity, fixtures, exhaust. |
| Primary suite bath | $45k – $90k+ | Walk-in tiled shower, freestanding tub, double vanity, heated floor, layout changes, permits. |
Ranges reflect what projects of this scope generally run in the Las Vegas valley. They are not a quote — every house is different, and ours are free.
Where a bathroom budget quietly goes
Shower waterproofing
The pan and membrane behind the tile are the entire reason a shower lasts. Done properly it is invisible forever. Done cheaply it is a full rebuild in five years, plus whatever the leak damaged.
Moving the toilet
A toilet drain is the largest pipe in the room and it is in the slab. Moving it means breaking concrete. Moving a sink is far easier than moving a toilet.
Exhaust that works
A fan that vents into the attic instead of outside is common in older Las Vegas homes and it is how you get mold in a desert. Correcting it is cheap during a remodel and expensive later.
Tile layout and waste
Large-format tile, herringbone, and anything mitred all raise labor and waste. The tile price per square foot is often the smaller half of the tile line item.
Niches and benches
Every niche is a hole in your waterproofing that has to be detailed correctly. They are worth having. They are not free.
Old plumbing behind the wall
Once the wall is open on a 1970s or 1980s house, you sometimes find galvanised pipe or a drain that no longer meets code. Better found now than after the tile is on.
Bathroom remodel costs in Las Vegas
Can I remodel a bathroom for under ten thousand dollars?
A powder room, yes. A full bathroom with a shower, realistically no — not with waterproofing done properly. Be cautious of any bid that gets there by leaving the pan alone.
Is converting a tub to a walk-in shower expensive?
It is a mid-range project. The tub comes out, the drain often moves, and the pan and waterproofing get built from scratch. It is one of the most requested changes we do and one of the most worthwhile.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Typically three to five weeks. Tile and waterproofing have cure times that cannot be rushed. See how long a remodel takes.
Do I need a permit for a bathroom remodel?
Moving plumbing or electrical, yes. A like-for-like fixture swap and retile, usually not. Details in the Clark County permit guide.
Can I use the rest of the house during the work?
Yes. We seal the work area and protect the route in and out. If it is your only bathroom, we will plan the sequence around that.
What finish holds up best in Las Vegas water?
Water here is hard, and it will spot and scale fixtures. Brushed and matte finishes hide it far better than polished chrome, which is worth knowing before you pick.
